Courses

1. When do group classes take place?

Lost in Translation is not your typical language school. We offer individual classes customized to meet your needs, on whatever day and at whatever time suits you! Grab your friends or colleagues and start that German class in Hamburg you’ve been thinking about for so long!

2. What’s the price of a class with Lost in Translation?

The starting price is 25,00 € per 60 min. Depending on the frequency and duration of the classes, as well as the location, prices will vary. To find out more, drop us a line and we promise to get back to you in no time.

3. Can you sponsor a language visa?

In Germany, only the “big” language schools, i.e. those offering formal German language courses that result in a recognized certification, can sponsor visas. Fortunately, Lost in Translation is not one of them – we like our small team of dedicated teachers and the community of students. However, if you need help finding a language school that will sponsor visas, or need help with the process how to learn German in Hamburg, we can be there for you.

4. What if I don’t like the teacher?

We know the chemistry between students and teachers is essential to the success of the learning process. That’s why we are more than happy to assign you a new teacher, should you feel the class dynamic isn’t quite right.

5. What is the duration of a course?

As educators, we know very well people have different learning processes, very different schedules and even different levels of motivation. Rather than offering a fixed number of hours, at Lost in Translation, we like to be flexible and give you the possibility to learn for as long as you want to or need to. We only ask that you give us  4 weeks’ notice before canceling.

6. Can I study online?

In today’s world, you most certainly can!

Translation

1. Can you translate a document from language A to language B?

We have an extensive network of translators specialized in official document translation in Hamburg and worldwide and can find one for pretty much any language pair.

2. Can I have a sworn translation?

You most certainly can. Just let us know and we will make sure your translation gets done by a sworn translator.

3. How much does a translation cost?

The price of a translation depends on the length, complexity, language pair, as well as the deadline. We can make an estimate once we’ve seen the text, so don’t hesitate to get in touch and tell us more about what you need.

4. Can you translate my document until tomorrow (or yesterday)?

We always do our best and we are known to be faster than lightning, but ideally, we wouldn’t have to. Finding a good translator and delivering a high-quality translation takes time. Please allow enough time for your documents to be translated and send them to us in advance, if possible.

5. Can you tell me what a document says on the phone?

That’s what we do here at Lost in Translation, we make complicated things easier. We can summarize the content of any document for you over the phone. If you want to phone call with us, follow this link.
